PHEW! (: i feel like i'm totally running a race X) Life has been totally insane yeah? X) haha some parts are fun, some are tiring, and some are just down-right emotional! ~ Yeah, i shall go on to tqalk about my bintan camp! Basically, it was VIP challenge! so we went for a camp at bintan for a week, and the thing is that it was during curriculum time! X) It was an adventure camp, that was insane X) 5 days, 4 nights! the theme was "others before self" and it was simply drilled into my head after the camp X) haha, very meaningful camp and theme indeed.
On day 1, we were introduced to our instructors, being Jay and Tini! Both of these instructors were seriously dynamic, and i felt that they were able to bring out many many values that were important as we embarked on a journey of self-discovery X) So the first day, it rained! and inspite of that, we still hiked up Gunung Bintan! It was insane, trust me, you will never know the experience until you have tried it first-hand for yourself! As you raindroplets trickle down your shoulder, you continuosly sink your feet onto the mountain ground, hoping that you wouldn't slip, cause if you do, everyone behind will all fall as well.Massive teamwork really.Just as the instructor said,"Gunung Bintan is a challenging mountain to climb on a normal day, if its a rainy day, 10 times harder." and what he said made so much sense. There were points of time where i was on all fours just to get into control! But nonetheless, i was a conquerer of that mountain, not a dreamer who would stood at the foot of the mountain and dream about climbing it, not a climber, who would just keep climbing the mountain without reflection or anything else, but a conquerer, one who challenge himself and completed the task. After that, we pitched our tents, and i shared mine with soo kai, shilp and tiong jin! (:
feeling lazy =X shall blog some other time (: but just for the record, we dragon boated, sampan rowed, snorkelled, and had fireworks for our campfire (: i really miss the villagers that we interacted with and also went to handle out supply packs to! they were such a fun batch (: and they really didnt know what was happening outside of their village. and at that point of time, i just thought to myself, had my grandfather not make that one crucial decision to bring my mum and her siblings to singapore for education after they were born in indonesia, i may just be one of those village boys there, oblivious to everything. incredible isnt it? X) lol. that would have been horrible! i would not have met so many wonderful people in singapore ):
WANTAN! X)
